Skycat is a parachute recovery system primarily for multicopters, single rotor helicopters, and small fixed wing UAS. It is designed to provide a safe landing by reducing the impact energy of the UAS in emergency situations, thereby protecting people on the ground and saving your airframe from serious damage. The patented FUSE® technology ensures a fast and successful parachute ejection and safe landing even when flying at low altitudes. To avoid entanglement, Skycat ejects the parachute away from the airframe and propellers. FUSE® technology releases the piston in a fraction of a second. There is no hatch or servo hatch release required.
Replacing the low-cost FUSE® is easy and does not require any special tools. It only takes a few minutes to repack the device for another launch.
SMALL AND LIGHTWEIGHT
To achieve clean installation and minimal reduction of flight time, the Skycat is designed to be a small, lightweight, and reliable parachute system.
In an emergency, seconds matter. Skycat ejects in milliseconds, dramatically increasing the chance of a safe landing.
SCALABLE AND ADAPTABLE
Skycat can be installed on almost any airframe. Multiple parachute sizes are available for small and large UAVs and up to three units can be installed to handle higher weights with better redundancy.
FAILOVER BATTERY OPTION
If you want total independence of the UAV's flight power status, a dedicated battery may be used. In addition, you can use multiple independent receivers powered from same or different BECs for added radio (launch command) channel reliability.
To launch the parachute, an electric jolt is conducted through the patented Skycat FUSE® trigger assembly, which mechanically and immediately releases all the piston energy at once. This results in a reliable and simple release mechanism.
